Imdaad, a leading provider of integrated facilities management (FM) solutions in the GCC, has announced the launch of its new ‘Go Green’ initiative to support its commitment towards building sustainable communities that promises to offer the best quality of life to its people and the coming generations. The company has introduced bio fuel in three of its garbage collection trucks to reduce its carbon footprint by using renewable and natural alternative from fossil fuel. Imdaad is the only FM company in the UAE that has opted for bio fuel in its waste collection vehicles.

The garbage collection trucks running on bio fuel will help in the reduction of particulate emission without lowering their performance. Imdaad has always emphasized on deploying eco-friendly equipment and sustainable technologies in all its operations to ensure the highest level of service to its clients. The move also actively contributes to the UAE’s strategy for sustainable economy and environment that will eventually enhance the quality of life in the country.

Jamal Abdulla Lootah, CEO, Imdaad, said: “As part of our ‘Go Green’ drive, we have started using bio fuel in three of our waste collection vehicles, which has already resulted in the reduction in the emission of pollutants such as carbon dioxide. The use of bio fuel is not just eco-friendly as it reduces greenhouse gases but is also cost effective and will cut down our cost of vehicle maintenance. We aim to gradually introduce bio fuel in all our garbage collection trucks. As the world is slowly adopting eco-friendly technologies and green policies and with special initiatives undertaken by the UAE government for a green economy, the use of bio fuel is yet another contribution from Imdaad for a greener, cleaner and sustainable environment.”

Bio fuel is a natural alternative from other fossil fuels and is made from the waste of living objects. It is produced using ethanol from naturally grown plant matters thus making it environmentally friendly fuel. Imdaad has actively implemented green practices throughout its operations and community initiatives. Besides, the company is proactive in its approach in raising awareness about the complete cycle of Reduce, Recycle and Reuse to ensure reduction in carbon footprints.

Imdaad has gained a strong reputation in the region as an adopter and implementer of the latest FM technologies and practices. The company acquires eco-friendly equipment and prioritizes sustainability across all its operations. It also conducts recycling training for its clients, corporate partners and staff, in addition to providing free recycling bins in certain projects where it handles waste management and collection services.
